SCIENCE WEEK 2014 AT ELIZABETH COLLEGE
“Science for our Future, Science in the World”
A program of activities for students
Grades K – 6 .
These activities will
be facilitated by Elizabeth College students.
There is no cost. These
activities will run between 14 – 22 August, and are for a class group. Only 3 activities per school can be
booked. Schools will then be contacted

Grade 8 activities
Continuing our initiative of last year, we are again
providing some activities for Grade 8 students during our examination period
(30th July – 7th August). Each activity is suitable for a class. The exceptions are the symposium, for which
bookings will also need to be made.

Thursday

Poster Competition
K-6 Prepare a poster on sustainability by 13th

Parents in a Lab
Some lucky parents/grandparents will receive an
invitation to participate in practical work in the Elizabeth College laboratories
with their son/daughter, or invited to listen to presentations about research
projects.
Government House
Invited Southern High School and College students,
together with Science teachers, Young Tassie Scientists, early career
Scientists, and leaders in Science will be attending a Reception at Government
House on Thursday 14th August, to mark National Science Week in the
South of Tasmania.
Luncheon in the Reception Room of the State Government Executive
Building.
Invited local primary school students and Elizabeth College
students will mingle with Scientists and guest speakers at a luncheon catered
for by Aurora Disability on Friday 22nd August.
